Description:

There is a critical need for clean sources of energy such as 21st century nuclear systems, wind, solar, geothermal, hydropower and biomass energies. Sustainable development will require the clever integration of renewable energy technologies into existing infrastructure, along with vastly improved efficiencies in non-renewable energy use. This program provides analytical and hands-on skills for designing, building, operating and enhancing sustainable energy systems that combine energy generation, distribution and utilization in an environmentally responsible and economically beneficial manner. We offer two streams: Smart Technologies for Power Generation and Distribution, and Efficient Energy Generation and Conversion. Your career: energy-related industries, power utilities and government agencies; engineering consulting services specializing in efficient generation, distribution and utilization of energy; manufacturing industry sectors related to renewable energy projects; transportation systems with hybrid propulsion technology

    Admission Requirements

    • OSSD with six Grade 12 courses at the 4U or 4M level
    • Prerequisite courses must be at the 4U level with no individual grade below 60%
    • Grade 12 English 4U is recommended for all degrees
    • Grade 12 4U/4M credits for co-op work experience will not be considered as part of the six courses

    • Chemistry (SCH4U)
    • Physics (SPH4U)
    • Calculus (MCV4U)
    • One credit from Biology and Vectors or Earth and Space Science
    • (Vectors recommended)
