Program Information

School:Wilfrid Laurier University - Waterloo Campus
Faculty:Faculty of Education
Field of Study:Education, General
Description:Laurier's Bachelor of Education (BEd) program is highly progressive and future-oriented. Our courses blend knowledge, skills, and global competencies that focus on the diverse needs of children and youth.

We designed our full-time, two-year BEd program to prepare you to teach students in primary and junior grades (K to 6) or junior and intermediate grades (4 to 10).

A key strength of our program is our strong reciprocal relationship with eight partner school boards in Ontario. You will spend one day each week in your school placement, in addition to block practicum placements. In your placement, you will apply the theory you learn in your Bachelor of Education courses to your practicum placements. You will also integrate your observations and questions from your school into your coursework, where your professors will guide you synthesize your learnings. This continuous integration of theory and practice is a hallmark of our program. As more virtual classrooms and online teaching become prevalent in Ontario, our program provides the opportunity for experiences in both physical and virtual learning environments.
