Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Applicants are required to have one of the following: Grade 12 with English 12 or English 12: First Peoples; or ABE/CCP Advanced Certificate plus English 045; or GED Certificate plus English 045 or English 12 or English 12: First Peoples. For all of these options, you must have a minimum “C” grade in English 12 or English 12: First Peoples/English 045. Please visit the website for more information on entry requirements.
Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80]
Application Notes : Applicants whose first language is not English are required to have a minimum TOEFL score of 80 (IBT), an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent as determined by College of New Caledonia, or have completed CNC’s English for Academic Purposes.

Applicants are required to have completion of the English component of the SRA; two references from a Social Service employer, volunteer supervisor, teacher, or social service professional, attesting to their personal suitability for work in this field; and a work/volunteer experience resumé. Applicants must have at least 30 verifiable hours of volunteer experience in the past three years. Applicants are also required to submit a written statement (max. 4 pages) on their interest in the social service field, their understanding of what the field is about, and types of attributes they possess that would make them a viable candidate for this program.
