Description:The Faculty of Education at UPEI is pleased to announce the second cohort in the Master of Education program beginning Fall 2015. Within this 10 course MEd program, 5 of these courses will certify students towards the Additional Designation in Inclusive Education required by the PEI Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. This combination of courses will prepare teachers to specialize as Resource teachers. The Faculty is proud to provide our teachers the opportunity to receive this designation.

Ten courses are delivered online or blended during the school year, with face-to-face courses offered during the summer in air conditioned settings on UPEI campus. All courses will focus on inclusion and differentiated instruction.

Admission Requirements

Grade for Entrance Previous Year (%)*70 to 100
Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    1. An undergraduate or graduate degree from an approved university with an average of 70% or higher in the last 20 courses (60 credit hours). An applicant who lacks a degree, or an applicant who possesses a degree with an academic average under 70%, may be considered for admission under exceptional circumstances.

    2. At least two years of relevant professional experience.
    Test Scores:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 600] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 100] or CanTEST [min. 5]
    Application Notes : IELTS: 7 in writing and speaking; 6.5 in reading and listening; PTE: 66; CAE: CAE A and CPE A & B 185-190 after Jan 1/15; Eiken: 1.

    Graduate program application form, personal statement form, two reference letters (one from professional and one from academic) and official transcripts of the applicant's complete undergraduate and graduate (if any) are required.
