Description:Prepare yourself for a vital role in child care with coursework that provides a mix of child development theory and hands-on experience, in both on-campus and community-based childcare programs. ECE includes three semesters of study, with specializations in Infant/Toddler and Special Needs available in the fourth semester.

Admission Requirements

    Applicants are required to have BC Grade 12 or mature student status (or equivalent), and English 12/English 12 First Peoples with a minimum of 73% or equivalent.

    Additional Admission Requirements:
    • Work Experience
    Applicants are required to have a record of 25 hours of volunteer and/or work experience completed in a licensed group, preschool or childcare facility under the supervision of a certified Early Childhood Educator, and attend an Applicant Readiness Interview with the ECE faculty.
