Description:Foundations programs provide adults and youth who do not have work experience nor employer sponsorship with an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills needed to enter the occupation. Students attend on a full-time basis and are in a self-paced, continuous intake program. Training involves practical and theoretical applications. Students receive credit in the Welding Provincial Standard Log Book upon completion of the Foundation Program. Over and above the program units, students are expected to participate in projects and, in such cases, prepare materials and steel for the college. The average time to complete the Welding Foundation Program is 28 weeks.

High school graduation or equivalent, OR English 11 or equivalent and Math 11 apprentice and workplace or equivalent with a minimum grade of C is recommended, OR Completion of a college assessment to an acceptable level.
