Description:This interdisciplinary certificate is designed to enrich students’ knowledge of the Caribbean, a key region with increasingly strong socio-cultural ties to Canada. Students will learn about the Caribbean’s historic, political, economic, cultural, racial, ethnic, and geographic diversity. This region provides an excellent site for studies of multiculturalism and creolization. Additionally, students will learn about the important Caribbean community in Canada, thereby engaging with issues such as migration, transnationalism, diaspora, racism, and equity.
