Description:Expand your understanding of world cultures and the diversity of human experience in the Humanities program at York. Our program devotes particular attention to the ways in which peoples from various times and places have expressed cultural values, practices and ideas of a philosophical, religious, moral, political and aesthetic nature. Hone your critical approach to reading and research to identify and question preconceived assumptions and values, while learning how to engage with and appreciate the interrelationships between diverse value systems. You will develop a critical understanding of the human and of human community. Focus your studies in one of our four streams or explore a wide range of subjects based on your interests. If you enjoy asking big questions and thinking critically about the world and its rich diversity of human culture, this program can offer you a flexible path to many careers.
