Requirements for Canadian Students

Olds College will accept an Alberta high school diploma or its equivalent. Its equivalent is deemed to be the appropriate certification for high school learning in secondary education systems outside the Province of Alberta or academic upgrading received in post-secondary institutions within or outside of the Province of Alberta. Specific course requirements vary by program.

Those not meeting the specific requirements may be accepted under the Alternate Admission status application process. Alternate Admission status applies to applicants who do not meet the high school requirements of the program to which they are applying and to applicants who received their high school education through home-based learning. In order to receive this admission status, applicants must provide the following: transcript(s) of high school and/or post-secondary courses; personally prepared statement outlining background and experience preparing them for the program; supporting documentation such as a resume, letter(s) of reference from previous educators or employers, and/or portfolio of related academic/project work. Alternate Admission is not available for all programs.

Requirements for International Students

International students must first submit an application online and pay the non-refundable application fee of $157.50 (CAD). Then they must submit all supporting documentation (high school & post-secondary transcripts, proof of English Language Proficiency, etc) via email to international@oldscollege.ca. Please be aware that not submitting all supporting documentation in a timely manner will significantly delay Olds College processing times. International applicants must meet the specific admission requirements for their desired program.

Allow 3-6 weeks for application processing of a complete application. Your Admissions Officer will be in contact with you via email.

Upon receipt of admission documentation, apply and obtain your temporary visa and study permit. Contact the Canadian embassy or consulate in your home country for details. Visit www.cic.gc.ca for more information.

Reserve your seat in the program by paying the $1,000 (CAD) tuition deposit through Flywire.
