To be eligible for the LEAF program you must have a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent. Review Laurier's English proficiency requirements to find more information on acceptable testing services and English proficiency minimums. The test score will be used to determine the level of the LEAF program where you still start.
When you successfully complete a level in the LEAF program, you will progress to the next level. When you successfully complete level 5, you will have met Laurier's English proficiency requirements and you will be able to progress into your undergraduate studies.
You can begin your LEAF program studies at Laurier by applying to an academic program and to the LEAF program at the same time, or by applying to study in the LEAF program only. You will submit your most recent English proficiency test score with your application.
Applying to Undergraduate Studies and the LEAF Program
The Undergraduate Admissions website will provide instructions on how to apply for undergraduate studies at Laurier.
If you are eligible for both the LEAF program and your academic program, you will receive an offer of admission with a condition to complete the LEAF program. After you complete the LEAF program, you can enrol in your academic program.
Applying to the LEAF Program Only
If you wish to apply to the LEAF program only and not to undergraduate studies, complete the steps below. In order to receive an offer of admission to the LEAF program, we require a current assessment of your English proficiency, which must be uploaded with your application form.
