Description | Develop a deep and broad understanding of worship and music’s role in it, drawing upon long traditions while envisioning what music means for contemporary life and worship in a variety of settings. Redeemer’s Church Music Ministry program brings together Scriptural inspiration, creative endeavour, and service to the church and broader society.
Right from the start, you will dig into a wide selection of musical literature, the principal eras, genres, and cultural sources — including and especially worship music, from past to present, in its many genres. Learn the skills, habits, and practices that will prepare you for a lifetime of serving people and the church through music. Applied music lessons, ensembles, and practice in composing and designing worship services provide opportunities to develop as a leader in the church and other ministry settings.
Church Music Ministry is a Bachelor of Arts degree. It is offered as an honours major. | | |
