Prerequisites Notes

Current Ontario secondary school students must complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six 4U or 4M credits including English (ENG4U) and Advanced Functions (MHF4U), with a minimum grade of 60 per cent in both. Should applicants present any of the following courses, their pre-engineering year may be adjusted accordingly: Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Chemistry (SCH4U) and/or Physics (SPH4U).

Note: Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria including school marks, distribution of subjects taken and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

Description

Are you interested in studying Engineering at Ontario Tech, but don't have the prerequisite courses for regular admission requirements? You may be eligible for the Pre-Engineering program.

This one-semester program offers a structured pathway with targeted courses to help you meet admission requirements. Upon successful completion of the program you'll be able to transfer into an Engineering program of your choice, based on academic performance during the Pre-Engineering program.

Our program is specifically designed to support you if you aspire to enter an Engineering program and if you did not have the opportunity to take all the prerequisites such as the necessary science and mathematics courses in high school.
