Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 73-76%) OR successful completion of a College Diploma with a minimum 80% average.

Please note: Admission is limited to students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at Ontario Tech University or who have completed an undergraduate program in any discipline from an accredited university. Students who have completed an Ontario College diploma with a minimum 80 per cent average may be considered. Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria including school marks, distribution of subjects taken, and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

Description

The diploma provides foundational understanding of public policy for the service, corporate, government, non-governmental and/or educational sectors. The program consists of 24 credit hours and may be taken on a part-time or full-time basis. Taken full-time, the program can be completed in two semesters.

As a graduate of this program, you will learn:

  • The meaning of public policy in a democratic society.
  • How policy decisions are made.
  • How policies are developed and implemented.
