To submit your application online, you will need:

  • Unofficial copies of transcripts for all post-secondary institutions attended (unofficial transcripts). Transcripts should be submitted in the original language they were produced in, accompanied by English translations (if required). International applicants are required to upload proof of degree as well. For more information see requirements for including transcripts with your application.
  • In general, applicants to a Master’s degree program must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Domestic applicants are normally required to have a minimum overall average of 3.00 (B) for third- and fourth-year courses.
  • Applicants must have completed an undergraduate course in statistics or biostatistics. In addition to courses taught in departments of Mathematics or Statistics, courses that are included in social sciences programs such as psychology or sociology, and in the curricula of undergraduate health professions, meet this requirement.
  • Applicants must have completed an undergraduate course in research methodology. Appropriate courses include those found in social science undergraduate programs, and in the curricula of undergraduate health professions.
  • A statement of academic interest (programs may have specific requirements for the statement of interest, please review the program specific admission requirements below for specific program requirements).
  • Name and contact information for your references (an institutional email address is required). References should be submitted no later than 2 weeks after the published deadline for your program. Please review our guide to tracking your application to monitor receipt of your references.

Description

The aim of this Program is to provide opportunity for health professionals and others interested in working in the health fields with the knowledge and skills to conduct community-based research, and to develop an enhanced understanding of health care systems and policy. The program provides students with relevant health research and critical appraisal skills, and opportunities to engage in a variety of health-related topics. Current students in the Program come from a wide variety of backgrounds. These include health professionals such as nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and physicians, as well as graduates from Science and other related programs.
