Description | Through this program, students will learn to teach children and adults with visual disabilities to develop or enhance their independent living, communication, leisure, and basic orientation and mobility skills; develop techniques to create personal learning plans and individualized programs to build skills and confidence in the outlined skill areas with clients; and experience practical learning under blindfold or low visual simulation. Students participate in a supervised, 14-week comprehensive (full-time) clinical fieldwork placement. This is the only full-time, English-speaking program of its kind in Canada.
Our graduates build careers in social service agencies, school boards, residential rehabilitation facilities, and insurance companies. | | |
