Current Students

  • To apply for the certificate, students must have successfully completed at least 18 credits in Chinese language in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics with a minimum grade of B+ in the last upper level course taken.

Description

Broaden your horizons with our language proficiency certificates. A certificate officially establishes your level of competence in a given language. This will help you stand out to employers and make valuable cross-cultural connections. With the widest selection of languages available to study of any Canadian university, our programs provide many options to grow personally and professionally.

The Certificate of Proficiency in Chinese Language, offered by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, accredits candidates who have advanced knowledge of the structures of Chinese allowing them to communicate in most formal and informal everyday conversations. Students who qualify for the Certificate of Proficiency in Chinese demonstrate oral fluency and can also manage most advanced points of grammar and style in writing and reading the target language.
