DescriptionCriminology is the interdisciplinary study of crime as both an individual and social phenomenon, with research on the origins and forms of crime, its causes and consequences, and social and governmental reactions to it. Criminology is for you if you have an active interest in a multitude of fields and seek to develop a critical and focused mind.


The Criminology program is a major in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. It is also offered as a minor or you may complete a certificate program in an area such as police, legal or forensic studies. You can start this program at either the Burnaby or Surrey campus.
