DescriptionThe Dalhousie Department of Radiology Residency is a postgraduate university program approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, fulfilling the training requirements set by the College. The five year program teaches all aspects of modern imaging methods and their applications in clinical medicine. Residents-in-training are rotated through three maritime teaching hospitals (QE-II Health Sciences Center, Halifax; IWK/Grace Children's & Women's Health Sciences Center, Halifax; Atlantic Health Sciences Centre, Saint John, New Brunswick) encompassing all subspecialty services. In each rotation the trainee is directly supervised by a staff radiologist. The resident is given graded responsibility for the triaging of requests, performance of studies, and image interpretation depending on the level of training.
