Prerequisites NotesNormally, Master's applicants should have an undergraduate grade point average of 3.25 to enter the program. Admission is generally in the Fall semester. Entering M.A. students are expected to have an undergraduate degree in geography or a related social science; it may be possible to fulfill these requirements after admission, although this will increase course-load and may slow completion of the M.A. M.Sc. applicants should have a B.Sc. in Geography or a related discipline.

DescriptionWe welcome applicants for Graduate Studies in all of our research areas. Graduate programs in the Department of Geography at Simon Fraser University provide students with the best possible research and academic preparation in a diverse range of fields, from urban systems to political economy, geomorphology to climate science, and agent-based modeling to geovisualization. The Department offers MA, MSc, and PhD degrees focused on research in human geography, earth systems dynamics (physical geography) and spatial and geographic information systems. Interested potential applicants should contact potential supervisors directly, as virtually all entrants identify possible supervisor(s) before they enter the program.
