DescriptionThe School of Social Work offers a master’s program (offered in French only). The School is a member of the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) and the MSS program is approved by the Program Accreditation Bureau of that association. The master’s program in social work offers professional training focused on the analysis of social inequality, minority contexts and the needs and characteristics of the French-speaking population in Ontario. The aim of the program is to prepare social workers to assume a leadership role in terms of the development, delivery and evaluation of practices and social policies. The program also aims to promote, through social action, the recognition of the rights of marginalized populations or of those living in minority contexts, as well as their access to social services.

The master’s program aims to train “practitioner-researchers” who will acquire analytical and critical thinking related to the practice of social work and the knowledge associated to it. The School of Social Work aims to achieve these objectives through a research -intervention dynamic in the two following fields of study: family-child and health. The MSS program consists of two years of training. The first provides students with the theoretical and practical foundations of the social work profession. The second aims to deepen knowledge in one of the two fields of study: health or family - children.
