Prerequisites NotesApplicants must have a Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or equivalent, including Secondary V Language of Instruction, Secondary V Second Language, Secondary IV Science, Secondary IV Mathematics (Technical and Scientific option or Sec IV Mathematics – Science option 564-406/426 or 565-406/426 or Sec V Mathematics – Cultural Social and Technical option 563-504), Secondary IV History, Sec V Physics, and Sec V Chemistry. Students with a DES missing any of the above subjects may be admitted, space permitting, but may be required to complete remedial courses
Cost

All returning students are required to pay their regular student fees ($164) in full by June 7, 2017 before registering for their courses. New students are required to pay the $164 in full by June 30, 2017 before they register. Payments may be made in full before registration by cash, debit card, Visa, MasterCard, money order or cheque. Post dated cheques will not be accepted. Any remaining fees (non-resident of Quebec, convocation fees, part time in-program fees, etc…) will be assessed by August 22 and due by September 8, 2017. Late payment fees of $25.00 will be applied to overdue accounts.

In addition to regular student fees, student membership in the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and l’Ordre professionnel des technologistes médicaux du Québec (OPTMQ) is approximately $200 for both. The fee to write the National General Certification exam of the CSMLS upon completion of the program is $720 as of June 2015.

The Biomedical Laboratory Technology Program gives students the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to contribute to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease by providing biomedical laboratory services to physicians and other clients.
