The English program offers you the opportunity to take a wide range of courses that reflect the diverse nature of English language literature. The design of the program gives you flexibility in what you take, allowing you to match your studies to your interests.

Research in the Department of English ranges widely—not just to different historical periods, but to surprising topics within and across those periods, such as fraud, medieval romance, the history of copyright, health, hockey, and nationalism. This research frequently shows up in our English courses, exposing you to the most up-to-date research in a field.
