Description | This one-year Ontario College Certificate program prepares students for an exciting entry-level position in the action sports industry. The rapidly-expanding industries of freestyle skiing and snowboarding, BMX, skateboarding and mountain biking have defined action sports and youth culture.
Students develop a broad range of skills from construction to event and program planning which they perform under supervision. Technical construction skills are related to where these sports happen: ski resort terrain parks, public or private skateparks, as well as dirt jumps and mountain bike trails. Other skills revolve around leading safety initiatives, facilities risk management, event and competition planning and action sports marketing. Students obtain certificates in safe chainsaw operation, as well as first aid. Students also gain direct experience building features for, and working with, fully functioning action sports facilities. | | |
