| Description | The driving force behind an exciting career in contemporary media is telling stories, providing context to the news and giving voices to the often voiceless. Specialized and dynamic training is vital if these are your goals. It's never been more important to combine technical expertise in the areas of filmmaking, television news and editing with the theoretical knowledge driving these industries. This is what a media career demands today – specialized, creative graduates, with diverse technical and theoretical skills.
The collaborative degree/graduate certificate program in Contemporary Media: Theory and Production is a joint venture of Brock University and Fanshawe College. You'll graduate with critically aware knowledge of Advanced Filmmaking, Broadcast Journalism - Television News and Visual Effects and Editing for Contemporary Media. You'll gain professional level technical experience while polishing your knowledge of the history, theory and critical thinking. You'll graduate with a four-year Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Film Studies and an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in one of three streams: Advanced Filmmaking; Broadcast Journalism - Television News; and Visual Effects and Editing for Contemporary Media. | | |
