Profile

On a 145 acre campus overlooking the town of Cochrane, 23 kilometres west of Calgary, the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary (CSBS) provides ministry training, offering degrees and diplomas in the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral fields. For more than three decades we have been entrusted with the training and theological education of pastors and other church workers in order that they obey the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ in and through local churches throughout the world. To that end we work to provide our students with training for ministry that is both biblically accurate and relevant to our context.

Our school has a deep appreciation for international students. Small class sizes allow for students to get the most of out of their interactions with professors and peers. CSBS&C has a Student Services department that is prepared to assist international students with the transition to Canadian culture. Each semester we provide a thorough orientation specifically for our international students. Costs at our school are very competitive among theological seminaries in North America while offering high quality education. The estimated cost to study at CSBS&C for one academic year for a full-time student would be approximately $10,075 CAD.

Areas of Expertise

The Seminary offers a one year Certificate of Christian Studies and a two year Associate Diploma of Christian Ministry, as well as a three year Bachelor of Christian Ministry. The three year Master of Divinity degree and two year Master of Religious Education degree are accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). CSBS also offers online courses.

On Campus Housing

There are 45 unfurnished housing units available on campus for full-time students only. Most of the units are three bedroom apartments with a few one bedroom and several two bedroom apartments. Further information may be obtained through the Housing Director. Students applying for Seminary housing will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which their Seminary application is approved.
