Video game designers create, design and develop the concepts, stories and structures behind video games.
Video game designers decide the look and feel of the video game and come up with the designs the game will use. They work with level designers to map out the different sections of the video game to create the actual virtual environment in which the game takes place.
Video game designers generally work in cities. Sometimes they will work from their homes but most time they work in an office environment. Many new media companies use open air concepts for their offices.
Video game designers will often work longer hours than 9-5 Monday to Friday. Approaching deadline and release dates for the video games they are producing will increase the hours which they work.
