Description:The Jewellery Arts program focuses on both the goldsmithing techniques and design skills that are necessary to succeed as a jewellery designer and goldsmith. You learn all aspects of jewellery making – sawing, filing, soldering, casting, forging and decorative metal techniques such as inlay, filigree and chasing, and the particulars of working with silver and gold and gemstones.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Applicants must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (if applying as a mature student 19 years of age or older), with completion of Grade 12 English (C or U).
Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 60] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80]

  • Portfolio
Applicants must also attend an information session, and submit a questionnaire and portfolio. Basic computer literacy and skill level in Word and Excel are recommended.
