Description:There are technicians and technologists at every point along the building process. Civil engineering technologists assist in recommending design parameters to engineers, conduct inspections of structures, perform tests on soils, concrete or other building materials, analyze results of tests, prepare statistical data, tables and drawings, and supervise construction projects.

Students will learn to draw, design and inspect structures in buildings and highways, perform tests on soils and concrete, and survey using the latest equipment. During their second year, they will complete an independent technical report related to civil engineering. Graduates may be employed in construction, mining, or private industry for companies, such as materials testing companies and land surveyors.
