Applicants who meet the general admission requirements of Brandon University will be considered for acceptance into the Pre-Psychiatric Nursing Year. Upon successful completion of the required Pre-Psychiatric Nursing courses, students are eligible to apply to Year 2 of the BScPN program.

Students must apply to the BScPN program after successful completion of the Pre-Psychiatric Nursing program. Students must achieve a minimum average of C in all Health Studies Psychiatric Nursing (69) courses and a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.0 or higher in the Pre-Psychiatric Nursing year for admission to the BScPN program.
Grade 12 with a minimum of 60% average on six Grade 12 U/M courses including English, Biology 40S, and Mathematics 40S (Applied or Pre-Calculus). Chemistry 40S is strongly recommended. See website for full admissions information.
In general, students from outside the province who apply for admission to Brandon University as regular students are required to have met the minimum requirements for admission to a University in the province or territory in which they graduated from High School.

The deadline for the BScPN program is May 1 of the year of desired entry into the program. Applications can be obtained from the BScPN Student Advisor. Late applications will only be considered pending on vacancy and a letter indicating rationale for late submission is attached.
Applicants must satisfactorily complete a Criminal Record Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and a Child Abuse Registry Check. The Psychiatric Nursing Admissions Committee will review positive Records Checks and manage them on an individual basis.
Applicants must complete an IELTS exam with a minimum score of 7.0. Students must arrange for the Faculty of Health Studies to receive a copy of the official results of the examination directly from the testing company by the May 1st Application deadline. Language fluency test results are valid for two years from the date of the test.
