Description:	Confederation College’s Practical Nursing program is a two-year program with an emphasis on providing nursing care to stable, predictable patients across their lifespan. Courses in the Practical Nursing program cover a wide variety of topics including nursing theory, human relationships, technical concepts in health care, anatomy, physiology, health assessment, and pharmacology. You’ll develop the nursing skills needed to help people at various stages of life and health. You may also want to consider our Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing four-year degree program, a joint program with Lakehead University. The collaborative BScN program offers more comprehensive learning and the advantage of two institutions with a rich history in nursing education. It also provides you with more career opportunities.

Prerequisites:*	These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Grade12 English Grade11 Mathematics Chemistry Biology Applicants are required to have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (U/C), or Open (O) preparation levels with Grade 12 English (C/U) Level; or successful completion of the Mature Student Assessment; or successful completion of the General Education Development Test (GED); or appropriate credits from the Academic and Career Entrance program (ACE). Applicants are also required to have Grade 11 Mathematics (College or University Preparation) and Grade 11 or 12 Biology (College or University Preparation) and Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry (College or University Preparation). If you find you do not possess the necessary admission requirements (or equivalency), we encourage you to consider our Pre-Health Sciences program which will provide you with the necessary preparation to apply to this program. Completion of the Pre-Health Sciences program does not guarantee admission to the Practical Nursing program in a subsequent year.
