To be eligible to participate in the Canadian Resident Matching Service you must be either a medical student or graduate having obtained or obtaining a medical degree by July 1 from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education / Committee on Accreditation on Canadian Medical Schools (LCME/CACMS) accredited school, a school of osteopathic medicine or an international medical school. All selection to the program is through the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS). We are interested in candidates with a sincere interest in psychiatry, reference letters from preceptors in the field of psychiatry, acceptable academic record which demonstrates special proficiency in those subjects related to our specialty, a personal letter demonstrating interest, good communication and interpersonal skills, and maturity, empathy, and sensitivity.
