| Description: | The Diploma in Visual Journalism is an intensive 11-month program, training students to become photojournalists and documentary photographers. This applied program provides students with real-world and professionally oriented education in visual journalism. Courses emphasize visual story-telling techniques, photojournalism, documentary photography, studio photography, videography, and use of sound. Using photography and video students document and tell the stories of the diverse and vibrant communities in Montreal and surrounding areas.
Students attend seminars and lecture-based courses that ground them in the theoretical and analytical dimensions of journalism, with a particular focus on its social, economic, political, and ideological contexts. |
