Program Information

School:Centennial College
Faculty:School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science
Degree:Diploma; Online; Advanced
Field of Study:Electrical, Electronic and Comm. Engin. Tech./Technician
Description:The Electrical Engineering Technology (PTY) program is for you if you're looking for a solid foundation in a range of electricity applications in many industry sectors, along with real-world experience before you even graduate.

In this advanced diploma program's courses, you'll benefit from both theory and the opportunity to put that theory into practice in labs where you'll complete real-life applications. As a result of this training approach, you'll gain the ability to design, adapt, analyze, troubleshoot, commission and install electrical systems as they apply to electrical engineering.

You'll be able to find work in a wide range of industries, such as:

  • Energy (petroleum and electrical generation)
  • Process/manufacturing
  • Construction/engineering
  • Telecommunications /IT network
  • Intelligent building systems

This course will be offered with hybrid delivery. Hybrid programs combine the best of both worlds: hands-on experience in our labs on campus, and remote access to virtualization software, plus recordings of our laboratory activities. Some courses are held in labs, but the first semester can be completed at a distance for those unable to travel. Students studying hybrid programs in Toronto will have scheduled lab activities on-campus in the fall and winter semesters. Students studying hybrid programs online will have access to new simulation software, virtualization software and recorded virtual lab demonstrations to gain in depth knowledge. If students are unable to travel to Canada, the first semester of 30 programs can be completed online (including online and hybrid options). Lab access is required to complete the Fall 2020 semester.
