Requirements for Canadian Students

Applicants must have a Grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma or its equivalent. An applicant who does not have a Grade 12 diploma may apply as a mature student (please contact the school for details). Applicants must provide transcripts from any institutions previously attended, as well as a signed resume providing further information on experience in art or design.

Transcripts and resumes must accompany each application for the Diploma, Certificate, and Portfolio Development programs.

Procedure for Canadian Students

All applicants must take part in an interview and portfolio review with the Diploma Advisor. Applicants to the Diploma and Certificate programs should present a portfolio of a maximum of 20 works, which should be based on observation and employing a variety of media. The work should demonstrate the range and quality of the student's experience in the visual arts. Applicants to the Portfolio program should supply any visual work that supports their interest in applying to the program. All applicants must bring the completed application form, 2 passport photos, and their birth certificate or passport along with any transcripts to the interview. A non-refundable application fee of $50.00 must be paid at the time of the interview.

Notes:

The main period for entry into any of the programs is the fall semester (September to December). In special circumstances, students will be admitted into the programs in the winter term (January to April), but this can often prove to be difficult. Whenever possible, students should apply so that they can begin their studies in the fall term.
