Requirements for Canadian Students

The general admission requirement for postsecondary programs is either:

  • The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12), with the majority of senior credits at the college preparation, university preparation or university/college preparation levels; OR
  • Mature Applicant Status (age 19 or older; refer to the section on Mature Applicant Status);
  • Degree programs require six Grade 12 credits at the university, university/college level
  • Post-graduate programs require a college diploma, university degree or equivalent.

Requirements for International Students

Minimum admissions requirements for international students vary by program. Academic requirements are program specific. Many of our programs require senior level math and science. To verify minimum admission requirements, please refer to our online program list at: https://www.senecacollege.ca/registrar/canadian-applicants/availablity.html.

Others may require a portfolio or another form of testing. If your first language is not English you must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting TOEFL, IELTS Academic or PTE Academic scores. Procedure for Canadian Students

Students should submit a completed application and transcript to Ontario College Application Services (OCAS) at ontariocolleges.ca. The application service will send your application to the colleges you have chosen. You may be asked to complete questionnaires, provide portfolios, attend interviews, and/or take part in testing or information sessions. The application processing fee is $95.00. The application fee is payable to OCAS. The preferential deadline for full-time diploma programs beginning in September is February 1. For further information see: ontariocolleges.ca.

Procedure for International Students

International applicants who are outside of Ontario may submit an application at senecacollege.ca/international/apply/. Once submitted online, a copy of the application must be submitted with the appropriate transcripts and proof of English to International Admissions at:
