Requirements for International Students

In Edmonton Public Schools, the academic year is comprised of two semesters. The first semester is from September to the end of January and the second semester is from February to the end of June. To maximize their learning, it is ideal for students to begin school at either the beginning of September or the beginning of February. However, EPS allows flexible entry and accepts students when they arrive. Once an international student applicant has submitted their complete application and academic fees and been accepted to the program, an official letter of acceptance to Edmonton Public Schools is provided to the student. Students must provide this original acceptance letter with their application to Canada Immigration for a study permit. Students should plan to arrive one week early to finalize housing and educational arrangements prior to the start of the school term or semester.

Procedure for International Students

Applicants to EPS are required to submit an online application. Please visit the Edmonton Public Schools’ International Student Program website for full details and instructions on how to complete an online application: https://internationalprograms.epsb.ca/.
