Sports

In addition to the ELP's sports teams and programs (soccer, softball, basketball, etc), students have access the University of Toronto's on-campus Athletic Centre with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities (Note: The fee is not included in tuition because we wanted this to be an 'option' for students.) Students can participate in fitness classes, yoga sessions, and much more.

Activities

The ELP offers a wide range of year-round activities, trips and events, from sporting and entertainment events to our unique three-day camping excursions in Northern Ontario. Students receive a monthly calendar listing all free and at-cost activities at the ELP. Fall and winter activities include skiing and snowboarding, ice skating, hockey, and NBA basketball. Spring and summer activities include horseback riding, Niagara Falls and local winery tours, as well as Blue Jays baseball and Toronto Zoo. Students are accompanied by our team of cultural assistants who are very friendly and enthusiastic University of Toronto students.

Clubs

Volunteer Club: The ELP Volunteer Club is an excellent way to practice English, work with Canadians, and gain some valuable experience. As members of the club, students volunteer in school-organized group events and fundraisers, as well as seek individual opportunities at various organizations in the city. Club members earn a certificate from the U of T ELP upon completing 20 hours of volunteering. World of Words (WoW): This student magazine is published four times a year and includes stories, features, and opinions of the ELP student body. Being a WOW reporter is an excellent way to practice all English skills. In addition to these co-curricular clubs, students can join the Tennis Club, Soccer Club, Games Club, and others.

Information Technology

Students have free access to our fully-equipped work stations in the ELP Computer Room, as well as access to over 500 campus-wide library computers. All students receive an email account with access to the internet, both at the ELP and throughout the Uof T campus.

Cultural

Located in one of the most multicultural cities in the world, the ELP offers many cultural programs with special events, festivals, and trips both on campus and off. Whether it's celebrating Halloween or Chinese New Year, students have many opportunities to experience the cultural richness of Toronto and Canada.

Special Services

VISA and Study Permit Counseling: Students with visa questions, concerns, and issues can meet an ELP representative by appointment and/or attend an information session. Students are taken through the process of visa/study permit extensions, status change, applying for a TRV, and accompanying spouse and children. Remember: NEVER leave your visa extension until the last minute. University Admissions: The ELP assists students in applying to university or college by offering workshops on completing the OUAC application, clarifying requirements, providing general info, directing students to resources, and offering one-on-one conferencing appointments (students meet with instructor or staff member).
