Description:This diploma program will prepare a student for a career as an Electric Vehicle Technician in the maintenance, service and repair of electric vehicles (EV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The first year of this program will introduce students to the aspects of electric vehicle theoretical and practical fundamentals. Upon completion of the first year, the student will obtain a certificate in Electric Vehicle Fundamentals and may choose to seek employment in the industry as a service maintenance helper or enter an apprenticeship program. The student may also continue into the 2nd year and obtain the Electric Vehicle Technician diploma.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, mature student status Grade 11 Math (C) or (U) is required.

    Test Scores:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 78] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or DuoLingo [min. 100] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0]
    Application Notes : English proficiency requirement: TOEFL iBT 78 with no band lower than 20, or PBT score of 550, or CBT score of 213 / IELTS 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5, Duolingo score of 100.
