Description:

Web and graphic designers combine art and technology to communicate ideas in print and on the web. Students learn design fundamentals, lettering and typography, graphic design and web design, and are introduced to different computer applications and software to be used as design tools. These tools are used to create high quality layouts and designs for print and on the web. Graduates are qualified for many entry-level positions, including production or computer artists at newspapers or print media production houses, advertising agencies or television stations. Areas of study include Adobe Photoshop image design and editing, vector graphics using Adobe Illustrator, website design, graphic design and layout using Adobe InDesign and more.

Notes: Program length: 10 months (20 hours/week, M-TH) includes 6 week internship.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    High School Graduate or higher or Mature Student status (19 years of age) and be creative. A portfolio is not required as the students will create their own portfolio while attending Herzing College.
    Application Notes : Students must pass an entry assessment administered by Herzing College and will be interviewed in detail regarding interest in the program.
