Description:Graduates of the Child and Youth Care program engage with children, youth, and their families in their everyday lives, use a relational approach to developing therapeutic relationships and build on their strengths and capacities to promote optimal development and facilitate positive changes. Many of the children and youth receiving care, and their families, experience complex needs and challenges associated with multiple factors such as socioeconomic factors, systemic factors, mental health, trauma, cognition, learning, and/or developmental exceptionalities and/or involvement in the justice system.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
An OSSD with the majority of courses at the College (C), University (U), University/College (M) or Open (O) level plus: Grade 12 English - ENG4U, ENG4C, EAE4C or EAE4U.
Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 78] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or DuoLingo [min. 100] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0]
Application Notes : English proficiency requirement: TOEFL iBT 78 with no band lower than 20, or PBT score of 550, or CBT score of 213 / IELTS 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5, Duolingo score of 100.
