Description:Motive power technicians will learn to test and analyze systems and vehicles in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and specifications. Students will learn to diagnose, disassemble, analyze, and properly reassemble major automotive systems and components. Students will get hands-on experience in a wide range of vehicle types from multiple manufacturers. This program will appeal to students with a good mechanical aptitude.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 Mathematics 
An OSSD with the majority of courses at the College (C), University (U), University/College (M) or Open (O) level plus: Grade 12 Math (C) or (U) is required. Senior Level Physics (C) or (U) is recommended.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 87] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or DuoLingo [min. 100] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0]
Application Notes : English proficiency requirement: TOEFL iBT 78 with no band lower than 20, or PBT score of 550, or CBT score of 213 / IELTS 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5, Duolingo score of 100.
