A student makes her plans for the fall 2020 semester at a Canadian college or university!

As September draws near, we're starting to get some clarity around universities and colleges' plans for the fall 2020 semester. We've gathered statements from schools across the country so you'll know what to expect for the coming year.

Check out the table below to find out what universities and colleges are planning, so you can make the right decision for your education.

Key terms:

Hybrid model: A blend of online and in-person instruction. Typically the courses that can be delivered online will stay online, while practical, hands-on elements, like labs and workshops, will be handled in-person. Schools have committed to following public health guidelines around physical distancing, so in-person components may still feel a little different than normal.

Planning for in-person: The expectation to return to campus more-or-less normally, with attention to physical distancing and other public health guidelines. This is likely to be closest to pre-pandemic experiences on campus.

Planning for online: The expectation that programs will return almost entirely online. There may be some accomodation for in-person course delivery, but the majority is expected to be online, at least through the fall 2020 semester.

Waiting to decide: Either the school hasn't made a firm call one way or the other, or we've been unable to confirm its decision. We'll keep an eye on these institution and update you when we can.
