) is just above downtown Toronto’s vibrant metropolitan landscape. With a new transit system opening in Fall 2017 on the YorkU main campus, students can enjoy the city of Toronto with a direct subway route and explore the diversity and inclusivity that Toronto has to offer. Toronto and YorkU boast a multicultural environment, with YorkU offering an array of campus life opportunities that are intended to help students balance life and school effectively. YorkU is home to more than 300 different student clubs and organizations, 13 newspapers, and 36 governing groups that fall under various initiatives including academic, advocacy, charitable, environmental, faith-based, hobby, political, professional and sports. YorkU offers a wide array of Experiential Education
activities in the classroom, in the community and in the workplace. Experiential Education helps to build students’ competencies and refine skills which help in everyday life and post-graduation. Getting involved in student clubs, organizations and governance, is an opportunity for students to develop critical leadership skills and gain valuable experiences that facilitates student engagement.
At YorkU, the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies which is one of the largest Faculties in Canada in conjunction with the Office of York International, offers international students a range of resources that will support you through both academic and administrative matters including ESL courses, writing centers, international student academic advising, global connections and peer mentorship programs. YorkU promotes the interaction between Canadian and international students to make the most out of their academic and extra-curricular engagements.
