University of Windsor: Arriving in Canada

By University of Windsor Modified on July 20, 2017

To make your arrival to Canada as smooth as possible, we have created the Soft Landing Program!

The University of Windsor has one of the most internationalized student bodies in Canada. Through our International Student Centre (ISC), we are committed to facilitating your well-being to make UWindsor feel like your home away from home! The ISC guides and supports students prior to arriving on campus through to graduation.

The Soft-Landing Program for new international students follows a series of 4 steps to ensure your arrival in Canada is as simple as possible. The process starts with determining how you will arrive in Windsor through to ensuring you find accommodation for your stay. If you apply for this program we will pay for you to stay at a nearby hotel for your first night in Windsor. Make sure you stop by and visit the International Student Centre once you arrive on campus to meet with student assistants waiting to welcome you and answer the many questions you have.

All new students are invited to Orientation where they will receive valuable information to help them succeed academically and with their transition to the University and Canada. University administrators, faculty and volunteer students provide a warm welcome with information, prizes, games and most importantly, the opportunity to make new friends.
