June marks the return of outdoor lunching with friends. Whether you're a meal prep person or like to grab food on the go, there are plenty of secret spots for you to eat in the sunshine.

Downtown Montréal is not the concrete jungle you'd expect from an urban metropolis. Whether you're at Sir George Williams or Loyola Campus, let's look at the best spots to picnic between classes:

Ernest Cormier Esplanade

A few blocks from the SGW Campus, just off René Lévesque Boulevard, lies a hidden garden where you can touch grass and sit amongst quirky sculptures. It's small but cute, and might be the downtown area's best-kept secret (until now).

Loyola Quad

Concordia's leafy Loyola Campus is a green oasis, meaning picnics are always in season. Grab free vegan lunch from the Hive Café and lounge on the quad with new friends when the skies are sunny.

Canadian Centre for Architecture

For the most aesthetic picnic possible, walk five minutes from the SGW Campus towards the courtyard in front of the Canadian Centre for Architecture. If you're looking for a moment of peace in downtown Montréal, you'll find it in the garden of the Grey Nuns Residence. You'll need to scan your student ID to get exclusive access to this green space that has plenty of picnic tables for you to lounge on.

If you're ready to stretch your legs after class, take a casual hike up Mount Royal for sweeping views of the city. Being amongst the trees will feel like you've left the city, even though you're only a 15 minute walk from SGW Campus.
