Do you need to take the IELTS test for entrance into university? If so, the British Council offers several free preparation resources to help you achieve a higher score on IELTS and get into the university of your choice.

Road to IELTS

A comprehensive e-learning and online assessment tool, Road to IELTS offers 10 hours of IELTS test advice and preparation material, which includes interactive activities and videos. An expanded 30-hour version of Road to IELTS is also available if you register for your IELTS test with the British Council.

IELTS Prep App

The easy-to-use IELTS Prep App gives you instant access to free practice tests, grammar tips, exercises, quizzes and more. You'll also find sample questions for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, as well as vocabulary practice.

Practice Tests

Prepare for IELTS with British Council's free practice tests for Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. These tests are an excellent way to carry out timed practice sessions and develop your test technique for the real test day.

Webinars

In British Council's two-hour webinars, our IELTS experts will guide you through the test, highlighting key tips and strategies in order to best prepare you for test day.
