Summer has arrived here in Canada, and that means winter can't be far behind. September is the traditional start of the school year here, but starting your program in January is a popular choice, too. If you apply this summer, you can launch your future in the new year at Sheridan!
Sheridan offers 6 January-start degree programs that include an internship. Completing your internship, which typically takes place between years 3 and 4 of your degree program, is a requirement to graduate. More importantly, your internship is a chance to demonstrate and develop your skills in real-world settings, working on real projects for real companies and organizations.
Why choose a program with an internship?
An internship gives you a chance to put your skills and education to the test in a real working environment. You'll build connections with peers and potential future employers, and test the waters to discover what sort of workplace suits you best.
Plus, you'll receive an hourly wage for your efforts, which can help offset the costs of living and studying in Canada. (Average hourly wages for fall 2025, sorted by program, can be found on the Sheridan website.)
Studies have found that many Canadian employers value local, Canadian work experience. Getting a chance to work in a Canadian business while pursuing your education lets you develop this experience and add to your growing resumé.
