What is a program bundle?
You’ve heard of majors, minors, combined degrees, and more, but you may not have come across the term program bundle yet. The Culinary Skills Ontario College Certificate and the Baking and Pastry Arts Ontario College Certificate are two separate programs being offered as a bundle package.
This means that you’ll apply to the two programs at one time, and you’ll receive a Bundle Program Letter of Acceptance for two-year studies. The start date will be September 2023 for the first program, and the second program will start in September 2024. You can choose which program you’d like to study first when you apply.
Why should you do a program bundle?
Not only will you know how to create sensational sauces and wow people with your cuisine, but you’ll also be a master at manipulating chocolate and decorating delicate cakes.
The food industry is difficult to make your mark in, but having the skills and knowledge to work with both cuisine and pastry will make you a valuable asset in any kitchen! You’ll be an attractive applicant to any potential employer thanks to the two field placements you’ll do!
Culinary Skills program
What does a program that focuses on culinary skills look like? You’ll learn about nutrition and food theory, food cost control, menu planning, different styles of cooking, sanitation and safety procedures, and essential food preparation skills and techniques.
You’ll also have lots of opportunities for hands-on experience! At AC, you’ll have many different environments in which you can put your skills to the test:
- Learn from industry professionals in our world-class culinary labs
- Get a taste of your career before graduation with some classes held in Restaurant International, our on-campus fine-dining restaurant
- Make industry connections with an 80-hour field placement
- Participate in community events, culinary competitions, and activities
After this year-long program, you’ll be ready to start your career as a cook, just like Ryan, an AC Culinary graduate and now a successful chef and restaurant owner:
Baking and Pastry Arts program
Embrace your creative side with the Baking and Pastry Arts program! This year-long program will have you elbow-deep in batters and doughs. You’ll learn essential techniques, such as mixing dough, weighing ingredients, preparing batters and icings, and cake decorating. Plus, to expand your job options, you’ll learn skills related to the daily operation of a bakery, such as inventory control and food cost percentages.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in baking, cake decorating, and shop management in our industry-standard baking and pastry labs while you learn from professional chefs. Near the end of the program, you’ll apply your skills and knowledge in the real world with a 40-hour field industry placement, where you’ll gain career-ready skills and develop your industry contacts.

How can you apply for the program bundle?
Applying for two programs is a lot easier than you think — and you can do it in four simple steps:
1. As an international student, you’ll apply through the International Application Portal
2. Choose your first and second choice programs in the order you’d like to study
3. Your first choice program would begin September 2023, and your second choice would begin September 2024
4. Indicate in the chat function that your application is for the “Culinary - Baking Bundle”
