What kind of degree do I get with an Honours Arts program?

When you choose an Honours Arts program, you will be working to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree, and you can earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from many different faculties across different universities. For example, at Laurier, you can get a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics through the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. But most Bachelor of Arts degrees will be for programs in faculties related to arts, liberal arts, and social sciences.

At Laurier, when you study in an Honours Arts program, you will be completing a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Faculty of Arts.

Why should I study in an Honours Arts program?

This is a good question to ask, and the answer may surprise you! When you’re ready to apply, you’ll submit your application through OUAC. For programs offered at Laurier, select Honours Arts (BA) Programs, All Other Arts Majors, Waterloo Campus. You will have the option of choosing your subject of major interest, but you don’t have to choose when you apply! You can start your Honours Arts degree without choosing your major and wait until the end of your first year to select the one that’s right for you. It’s another way you can customize your education.
