Three-Year International Tuition Freeze at Carleton University

International tuition freeze

Starting in Fall 2026, Carleton University has introduced a three-year international tuition fee freeze. This means that once you begin your program in Fall 2026, your tuition rate will remain the same for three academic years (2026–2028). This initiative is designed to help international students and parents plan their budgets long-term.

Scholarship supports for international students

Besides the freeze, Carleton has also reduced international tuition fees for some undergraduate programs and continues to offer merit-based entrance scholarships and awards:

• Automatic Entrance Scholarships – Automatically awarded based on your admission average. Students with an average of 80–84.9% receive $1,000 per year, and those with 95–100% receive $4,000 per year. No separate application is required.
• Prestige Scholarships – Valued at $20,000–$30,000 over four years, these are awarded to students with outstanding academic achievement and leadership. A separate application is required.
• President’s Welcome Award for International Students – A value of $2,000–$5,000 for the first year only. This automatic award is offered in addition to other Entrance Scholarships. It is available only to international students entering directly from high school and paying international student fees.

These scholarships can significantly reduce the overall cost of studying in Canada. Combined with the tuition guarantee, they offer greater financial predictability for international students.
